BARMAIDS' HOURS.

(PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, November 6. At the Police Court to-day John Watson, of the Commercial Hotel, was fined £2 and costs for permitting a barmaid to be in tbs bar after 11 p-m Evidence was given that sbe had been ordered to leave at 11, Hut Mr Watson, having gene into the Grand Hotel to look after business there in his brother’s absence, the girl did not leave, although there was a barman there to relieve her. A charge arising out of tho same case—namely, selling liquor after 11 p.m—was dismissed.
