In consequence of a great trial between Carbine and Malua at Caulfield to-day, the former has hardened in the Derby betting, and 7 to 4 has been taken about his chance.

Ther is no change in the Cup betting, and everything is very quiet to-night.

At the Anniversary Races to-day there was only a fair attendance, the threatening weather keeping away a large number. Cavalry Race —Bfucher, 1 ; Cassandra, 2. Sporting Handicap Barosma, 1 ; Miss dOr, 2; Gunpowder, 3. In the Hack Hurdles a rider named Tekley bad his horse roll over him. His injuries are serious, and ho is not expected to live.
