TRIAL OF AUCKLAND AMMUNITION.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, January 27. A trial of Auckland ammunition as against Kynook’a imported article, authorised by Government, took place yesterday at the Mount Eden range. The arrangements were Underthe supervision of Colonel Bailey, and there was a large attendance of officers of. the Auckland staff to witness the trial. The ranges Were 500 and 200 yards. Seven fired, amongst the shootiritS being Colonel Bailey, Lieutenant-Colonel Shepherd, and Captain White. At 500 yards Whitney and Co. V ammunition was ahead by 14 points, and at the 200 yards range, with only a third of the men testing the new cartridges, the Auckland ammunition had five points in its favor.
