At the examination of William Whisker, butcher, to day, his Honor said the assignment by the debtor of his property was tbe most barefaced swindle he had met, and be was about to sentence him to three months with hard labor when tho Deputy Official Assignee asked for an adjournment of the examination, which was agreed to. A third cose was that of a' batcher named George Symons, who, it was shown, had no capital to start with, was in/ business font mouths, and incurred liabilities to tbe extent of £150; and in this case the debtor bad been keeping his mother,: brother, and sisters out of the proceeds of the book debts, and there were no assets for tbe creditors. The Judge sentenced the accused to 14 days’ imprisonment without hard labor, as a deterrent to other bankrupts.
