Any difference as error, plus or minus, of the chronometer. The 17.5.5. Go’s es Eotorua left Port Chalmers at 3 pm on Monday, Lyttelton at 9.30 pm on Tuesday, arriving here at 12.30 pro Yesterday. She experienced strong southerly winds. The Eotorua brought up a quantity of the Euapehu’s cargo for Wellington. She sailed for Picton, Nelson, Taranaki and Onehunga at 4 o’clock this rooming. , The XT.S.S. Go’s ss Penguin arrived here early yesterday morning from Picton and Nelson She left Picton at 6.30 pm on Tuesday and arrived as stated. She experienced yery thick weather in the run across the Stmts. The Penguin left for South at 2 o clock in the afternoon. . , The Government steamer Hinemoa arrived at midday yesterday from Manukau. She experienced very rough weather on tiro passage down. She reports the ships Halcione and Oamaru, the former off Taranaki and the latter in the Straits. Both ships report all well on board. The Hinemoa will leave on a return trip to Onehunga this sEernoon. The ss Hauraki arrived fromjoxton and Eangitikei early yesterday morning. Shelelt again for Foxton at S pm yesterday. The U.S.S. Co's es Mba arrived fr»m the West Coast at 2am yesterday. The Moa will return to Westport to-day at Boon, The ss Waverley made a start for Fates yesterday afternoon, but returned to port a tew tours after, owing to the strong SE gale and heavy sea outside tile Heads. She will make another start to-day if the weather moderates. The U.S.S. She sailed last night forGreymouth, The ss Mohaka arrived at 2 am yesterday from Blenheim. The steamers Stormbird, Charles Edward, Waverley, Jane Douglas, and Mohaka did not sail yesterday, owing to the heavy SE gateapa high sea prevailing.
