The charge of child murder against Josephine Green is proca nling to day, Detective Benjamin, Constable» Manning, of Bulla ; Motley, of Woodville j and MoAuulty, of Poxton, have given evidence. Th *y deposed that they had made exhaustive inquiries, hut had been uuable to discover anything of Williams, the reputed father of the missing child. Motley, who is Post Officer at WoodviKo. said uo letter had b;ien resolved there for Williams for twelve mouths except one a m >nt!i ago, and that had not been called for. The case is not nearly finished yet,

The case of alleged child murder has been further remanded for a week- Too Bench said the case for the prosecution urnst close then. The police sud they were expecting further important evidence, but it was nob consistent with the ends of justice 1 1 say what it wat The chirge of larceny against the same accused was dismissed.
