.The Featherston Town Board held their usual monthly meeting on Monday last. ; Pre-sent—-The Chairman (Mr G. Reynolds), and Messrs F. Gundy, W. Burt, Jas. Donald; and W, Hodder. After the ordinary business of the meeting, Mr H. Bunny came forward and stated that he had seen the Under-Secretary, in reference'to the reserves being handed over to the Town Board. He wished to know what reserves were wanted, and no doubt before long all the Board required would be banded over to them, A complaint was made in the course of the evening about the nuisance of cattle being allowed to graze and wander about the township. At night this is especially dangerous, It was resolved to acquaint the ranger that he would have to be more energetic in future in staying the annoyance. The following reso'utions were also passed Proposed by Mr Jas. Donald, seconded by Mr W. Burt—“ That the Clerk be instructed to; apply to' the County Council for a refund of the money (collected .by them in error) and:of all moneys due to them, on publicans’ licenses and transfer fees, according ’ to*’ the Town [Board Act." It was shown by a statement of accounts of the expenses incurred by the Featheraton Licensing Bench, presented by Mr Bunny at the ' meeting, that they, only amounted to the’sum'of £2i; 7* Id, 1 instead of £BO, as by some remarks pievioukly made by a member of the Board the public were led to believe. *' " 1 ! 1
