Prices were firmly maintained. The body of the late Earl of Crawford and Balcarres was stolon to-day from the mausoleum at Aberdeen. The object of the theft is believed to be to extori a ransom from the relatives of the deceased Earl.

A Bluebook has been issued containing papers and letters in reference to Afghan affairs. One of the documents is a communication by the Ameer, Abdur Rahman, to the Viceroy of India, in which he undertakes to do nothing without the consent of England, and expresses his intention of informing the Government of everything that may take place in Afghanistan, whether good or bad. Washington, December X. The Irish National Convention, sitting at Chicago, has passed a resolution m favor of a national Government for Ireland, based on the will of the people. Another resolution has been passed endoming the “no rent” agitation which is being carried on by tenants in Ireland. Sydney, December 3.

The cricket match between the English team and twenty-two of Bathurst was concluded to-day, and resulted in a victory for the visitors by 76 runs. The twenty-two, in their first innings, scored 44, and in their second 68. The Englishmen scored respectively 118 and 73.
