Mr Gabb, farmer, of Eist Tamak', is seriously ill in the Hospital with b!o>dpoinoniog, caused by scratching his thumb with a kui f eused to scrape eheep footrot. The steamer EaHah Rookh steamed up the Taheke river, Hokiugt. 2i mites. This is the first steamer which bas ever attempted it. This will open up large blocks of splendid land.
Ashburton, December 3.
A little rain has fallen to-day and yesterday. It is much wanted now for the crops.
Dunedin, December 4.
The second day of the Agricultural and Pastoral Show was very successful, about 5000 peisons being present. The takings for the two days amounted to £195. The cup for the best draught entire was tatren by Mrs simmo’s Gladstone. Mr G. Dod-on took tha cup for the largest number of prizes in blood stock.
