Arrived—lnvercargill, ship, from Loudon; F. M. Carlow, barque, from New York. Sailed—Rotomahana, for Melbourne via Bluff. The following vessels were in port last night: Steamers Hineraoa, Manawatu, Huia and Patea. Barque—Alastor. Brig— Phillis, Schooners, etc. Aspasia, Reward, Advance, Elizabeth Curie, Comet, Aurora, and Hannah Barratt. The topsail schooner Hannah Barratt put in here yesterday afternoon, owing to having experienced adverse weather in the Strait. She left Foxton last Tuesday and had a succession of strong southerly gales with heavy seas, and ran into port for shelter. She has a load of timber, and will probably get away to-day. The steamer Mohaka, for Blenheim, sailed last night. The Government steamer Stella left early yesterday morning for the French Pass. The Go-Ahead, which left litre on Wednesday night for the East Coast, anchored in Worser Bay, owing to the south-west breeze blowing. fSho got under weigh again yesterday and continued on her passage to Castlepoint. The U.S.S.’s Co.’s steamer Penguin left yesterday afternoon for Picton and Nelson. She leaves here again on Sunday for the Manukau and intermediate ports. The steamer Wakatipu is due here this morning from Port Chalmers and Lyttelton, She is advertised to sail at noon for Sydney direct. The steamer Grafton should arrive here today from the West Coast ports. She leaves again to-morrow for Lyttelton. The barque Malay was towed to sea last evening by the steamer Tui, bound to Newcastle. The barque left full of passengers. The Albion, one of the U.S.S. Co.’s steamers, is due here this morning from the South. She sails at 1 p.m. for Auckla ,d via the East Coast. The U.S.S. Co.’s Taiaroa is due here this morning from the Manukau anil intermediate ports, and sails at I p.m. for Lyttelton only, returning on Monday, on which day she sails for Picton and Nelson at 1 p.m. The brig Phillis showed a clean hold yesterday and will probably leave here to-day. She goes to Oamaru, at which place she loads oats for Australia. The barque Edwin Fox, from London, has arrived at the Bluff, all well, after a protracted passage of 142 days. The steamers Huia and Manawatu are both advertised to leave to-day for Wanganui. The Elizabeth Curie cleared at the Customs yesterday for Picton. The Queen’s Wharf had a very deserted appearance yesterday evening. The only vessel of any size lying alongside was the barque Alastor. To-day, however, three of the Union boats will arrive, which will be sure to cause the customary amount of business and bustle. The steamer Tui left last night for Foxton, Opunake, Taranaki, and Waitara. The steamer Napier was reported yesterday as being bar-bound at Blenheim. She will probably, however, leave here at the advertised time to-day. ... . , . The steamer St. Kilda should arrive this evening from the South. She is advertised to sail tor Wanganui to-day. The schooner Aurora has completed discharging her cargo of timber and will sail in a few days. The steamers Manawatu and Huia arrived from Wanganui last night, and sail again for the same place to-day. The steamer Mohaka, from Blenheim, sailed last night. 'The Wellington Harbor Board reports that a patch of rocks with only loft on it at low water, and from 10 to 15 fathoms all round, has been found about two cables’ length from the south-west point of Somes Island ; the centre of the patch bears from the lighthouse W. by S. J S., ami from the southern detached rook above water off the north end of the island S. by W. j W. (magnetic).
