THE TARARUA DISASTER

(DNITED I'Eli-13 ASSOCIATION.) I'VNEDiN, May 18. No further applications for relief have been made to the Tararua Relief Committee. Captain Garrard being an excellent swimmer, surprise has been expressed that he did not swim ashore. It now transpires from the position of the body when found that he evidently did try to swim, but that he was caught in kelp.
