THEATRE ROYAL.
The presentation for the third time of "Elizabeth, Queen of England," drew together last night a very large and appreciative audience ; and certainly the acting of Mrs. Bates on the occasion showed no falling off either in energy or fervov. As usual, Mrs. Bates had to bow her acknowledgments at the end of each act, the third act more particularly bringing down the curtain with a perfect storm of applause. The play ia now withdrawn, but we mistake greatly if the artiste will be permitted to leave Wellington without favoring the public again and yet again with her admirable delineation of one of the greatest, noblest, meanest, and vainest of sovereigns. This evening's entertainment will consist of the "American Cousin" and the " Quiet Family." In the former, Mr. Bates will play the part of Asa Trenchard, of which performance rumor speaks well. In the latter, Mr. Sam Howard will make his reappearance on the Wellington stage as Barnaby Bibbs, and we may safely promise Mr. Howard that his return to the boards will be welcomed by a host of friends and admirers.
