George Thome's interminable bankruptcy case came again before the Court, when the j Chief Justice threatened to commit the bankrupt for contempt, for not furnishing accounts ordered by the Court. The case was adjourned again till the 16th of January, 1875. I Napier, Tuesday. . Six seamen of the ship Bebington have been sentenced to twelve weeks' imprisonment for refusing to work on board. At a sale by E. Lyndon, auctioneer,- of Mr. Noma's property, at Kaianui, the land averaged £27 per acre. The homestead and eight acres were passed in at £550. Town sections in Hastings-street, sold at from £3 to £3 10sper foot. Lots 56 and 58, in Ormond, Poverty Bay, were not sold. Gbahamstown, Tuesday. The native meeting broke up suddenly last night, a message having been sent to Te Hira that Haimona Ngaroua was dying. It was reported to-day that after the public meeting Te Hira and Te Moananui met Sir Donald McLean and withdrew all opposition, so that the country is virtually open. Mackay's side is said to be annoyed at this, and say now that they will give up the land as well as the gold. The chief Haimona Ngaroua is dead. The tangi over his body is going on to-day. New Plymouth, Tuesday. William Bayley has become the purchaser of the steamer Go-Ahead. The price given was about £7OOO. Port Chalmers, Tuesday. The Auckland whaler Albion was spoken by" the Kate Brain, from Newcastle, in latitude 47deg. and longitude 169 deg. 16min. east, at noon yesterday. She desired to be reported.
