—-———- The births in Wellington registered in August were forty-seven—thelargest number registered for the borough in any month since January. The deaths numbered sixteen, an increase of five upon last month's deaths. Of the deaths, ten were of females, six of males. Seven of the deaths were of persons under five years of age, nine of persons over five years. There was only one death from zymotic diseases—viz., one child from croup. Constitutional diseases yielded four deaths ; two of infants from tabes meaentenea ; two of adults from phthisis. There were four deaths from developmental diseases, including one person of soventy-nino years from old age ; one woman died from the effects of a scald. Three ot the deaths were of persons over sixty-five years of ago: one woman agod sixty-eight, two men. aged respectively seventy-two aad seventy-nine.
