A GREYTOWN GRIEVANCE.
TO THE EDITOB. Siß.—Tlie late flood in the Waiohine proves the absurdity of raising the road in Greytown without affording sufficient outlet for the water by means of culverts. Thatonerecently destroyed by the force of the water was filled in until the timber could be obtained to make a larger one. It still remains in the same state, endangering, the property of those on the wrong side of the road ; part of the timber is lying there, yet the matter has rested in statu quo for months, although the water, pouring over the road, and dropping a couple of feet on the other side, keeps destroying the roadway each freshet. If the Provincial Government has not the funds to finish the job commenced, the sooner the highway is taken over by the Town Board the better; or, better still, that the- General Government have the management of the main trunk roads.—l am, &c, Greytown.
