THE WELLINGTON RACES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I am sorry to have aroused the “ indignation” of your correspondent, “ Hairless Horse,” because I happen to differ in opinion with him in thinking that a butchers’ horse race, however excellent an amusement in itself, would be out of place at the ensuing race meeting. If it would not still further stir his bile, I would suggest that he send his .proposal to the Stewards as well as to your journal, feeling sure those gentlemen will duly consider it, and courteously reply thereto, unbiassed even by the implied threat about his subscription.—l am, &c., Silk Jacket.
