THE WELLINGTON RACES.
TO THIS EDITOR. Sin, —I read with indignation a letter in this morning's paper, signed “Silk Jacket,” the writer of which wants to treat my former letter aa a joke ; but, I beg to assure that worthy person he is entirely mistaken if he thinks so, because I was perfectly in earnest, I thoroughly understand him—he is one who would like to monopolise the whole of the lesser prizes at the forthcoming races, because he knows that a butchers nag could not hold a candle to a broken-down racer. Aa for his flattering, the committee, I hold my own private opinion about that, for those worthy gentlemen know where to'go when collecting subscription If the writer desires to enter into arguments on this matter, and hopes not to be convinced, he must wear a heavier coat thau a silk jacket. Yours, &c.. Hairless Horse.
