PICTON. ‘ August 11.-Arrived r 8 a.m., Ladybird, from Wellington ; sailed again for Nelson at 9 a.m. WANGANUI. August 11. —Sailed: 7.30 a.m., Manawatu, s.s., for Wellington. The s.s. Stormbird arrived at one o’clock yesterday, having left Wanganui at 8 p.m. on the 10th inst.; crossing the bar at 8.30 p.m. Fine weather with S.E. wind prevailed. At S a.m. yesterday she passed the barque Malay, from. Newcastle for this port, off Kapiti. _ • . . The barque JTeversham has discharged a portion of her cargo by coaling the steamer Alhambra yesterday. The s,s. Alhambra, Captain Sinclair, which arrived in harbor yesterday morning at 8.30, left Hobson's Bay at 1,30 p.m. on the Ist August, passed Wilson’s Promontory at 5 a,m., and the Sisters at 2 a.m. on the 2nd. Experienced south-easterly winds, head sea, and fine weather nearly all the passage. Arrived at Hokitika at 7 a.m. on the 7th, waited there until 5 p.m. to be tendered, but was not; proceeded to Greymouth and discharged passengers and mails ; left at 11 p.m.; arrived at Nelson at sp.m, on the Bth. Discharged Nelson, Greymonth and Hokitika cargo ; left at 6 p.m. on the 10th, arriving here as above. She sailed again for Melbourne via the South last night. Amongst the cargo which arrived in the s.s. Alhambra, from Melbourne, were 19 horses ; and four boxes containing 20,000 sovereigns for the Bank of New Zealand.
