RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Monday, June 29. (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) Duunk and Disorderly.—J. Oldridge, charged with being drunk and disorderly, was fined 205., or, in default, forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. Duunk. —Edward Noakes, for this indulgence, was mulcted in the sum of 10s., it being bis third offence within a month. Henry Hurley, for a like transgression, was ordered to pay Cs. Thueatenino to Kiel.—Peter Manson was charged with threatening to cut short the earthly career of another man. In consideration of having been in custody for eight days, the prisoner was discharged, promising earnestly to “ make himself scarce.” Disobdeuly Conduct.—Ralph Portelli was charged by the police with disorderly conduct and committing a broach of tho peace. Mr. Buckley, who appeared for the accused, called witnesses to show that the alleged assault consisted of pushing a rowdy man out of Ida
oyster saloon, and indulging in a little gesticulation. Portelli had been in custody since Saturday night, -when the offence took place, and was discharged. .CIVIL CASES. McDowell v. T. Downes.—£lo 17s. ; verdict for amount claimed, and 20s. costs. Stuart v. Wheeler.—Fraud summons, £4 19s. sd. An order was made for payment of ss. weekly. In default of payment, one month’s imprisonment.
