BRITISH FLEET IN THE NORTH SEA

WELCOME BY QUEEN WILHELMINA. AMSTERDAM, August 17. • The British fleet now on the voyage to the Baltic Sea was welcomed at Ymuiden (North Holland). Queen Wilhelmina invited Admiral Wilson and his officers, the members of the British Legation, the Dutch Ministers, and a number of Dutch naval officers, to a dinner. BERLIN, August 17. The “North German Gazette” says the British fleet’s coming visit has aroused an almost general wish among Germans to view this interesting spectacle. The Minister of Works has therefore decided to run special excursion trains at reduced fares. BERLIN, August 18. According to present arrangements, while the British fleet is in German waters the German Baltic fleet will be away conducting manoeuvres.
