At Tattersall’s meeting to-day Machine Gun scored his first victory in Australia, winning the Tramway Handicap, six furlongs, in a field of twelve. The New Zealander, who carried top weight (10.12), shot out after passing the Leger stand, and finishing like a flash, Beat Isis (7.13) by a neck in lmin 14sec. Ala chine Gun started favourite at 5 to 2 agst.
