AUCKLAND, August 10. Good news regarding the development of the low-level in the Waiotahi mine, Thames, has resulted in numerous sales up to 62s 6d, leaving the quotation for buyers at 60s, and for sellers at 645. In view of the fact that the shares a few months ago were from six thousand to sixty thousand for the convenience of sharemarket transactions, the present price is somewhat sensational. AUCKLAND, August 10. During July the New Zealand Crown Mines, Ltd., treated 1071 tons ore for bullion valued at .£4524. REEPTON; August 10. Big River mine manager reports:—During the week No. 8 level, west drive, has been driven 14ft, making tne total dis>tanc© from crosscut 70ft. At present there is 3ft of stone in back of drive, and stone 4ft down the face of drive. The stone shows gold freely. The intermediate has been driven 10ft. REEFTON, August 12. Alpine mine managers report:—lntermediate level has been extended south 7ft, making a total distance of 68ft. Stone cut out on Tuesday, but is making again, and is now loin wide. In the north end, the level has been extended 6ft, making a total distance of 46ft. There was 4ft of stone in this face up to Wednesday, when it cut out.
