NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR ROWING ASSOCIATION.
A‘meeting of. the New Zealand Amateur Rawing Association was held on Friday evening,'Mr M.F. Marks, vice-presi-dent; occupied the chair, and there were about t wenty delegates in - attendance. The- new" rules having come ;nto force-, the-Managing Committee tender; ed their resignations, which were accepted. All the • officers* with the exception of Messrs G. H.- Bethune and W; M.Tyers, who did not .seek re-elec-tion, were re-elected. The . following will, be the office-bearers rof the association for the coming year:—President, Sir' Robert Stout;., vice-presidents, Messrs J. Jaimes, Dunedin, and M; F. Marks, Wellington; secretary, and treasurer/Alr NV Galbraith; council, Messrs R.; MoVilly- «L*. Partridge, Isaacs, G. Lauichlan; R. Smith. Bayfield,-. G. F.. Campbell. Messrs <J. W: ; Beer, S. E. Beer., John Beer; HP L. Beer and F. Green were- reinstated as amateurs. Messrs Berndston, C. Bradley and M. Ciisscn also applied for. reinstatement, aud • it' iras. decided that ' they} should apply -again in twelve : months 5 : timeThere was. considerable discussion in reference to the action -of the Canter-bury;-Rowing; Association , in allowing maiden raees-t o be rowed .in :boats- other than those provided .by the . rules*. The meeting! decided that the Canterbury Association .. shouldi he- suspended until ifc gave a: satisfactory explanation of the . reasons , which' induced it to take this action;
