PIGEON SHOOTING

WELLINGTON PROVINCIAL GUN CLUB. Tho annual competition in connection with the Wellington Gun Club was held at Pet one on Friday. Tho weather was in favour o-f the shooters. The competition was very keen, and despite the fact that such cracks as “ Annandale,” Eales and Campbell, of ' New South Wales, wero competitors, the provincial men —amongst whom were Messrs Clievannes, H. Redwood, Eccles and others —did very well. Mr H. Earle carried out the duties of secretary, and Mr Von Sturmer gave satisfaction as umpire. There wero sixty-five competitors, exactly the same number that competed last year. Tho prize was £l5O, and thirty-three competitors killed seven birds each, and divided £132. In the shoot-off for the balance. Price '(two nominations), “Annandale,” Eales, Dobson, Seccombo and Graham tied at eight each.
