BRISBANE, August 5. The Federal Government, ignoring the Stat e Government, has instructed the officer in charge not to enrol any members of the Defence Force for return to South Africa. There is some soreness over an alleged interference with State rights in the matter.
The live stock returns for the State disclose decreases of 4,887,000 sheep and 975,000 cattle as compared with last year. Horses have also largely decreased. BRISBANE, August 6.
