NEW ZEALAND MEAT
The "Meat Trade Journal" calls the attention of its readers to an advertisement apearing in J a recent issue, in which the Hon. W. P. Reeves, Agent-General for New Zealand, warns meat -traders against selling as New Zealand meat, meat that has not been produced in that colony. The Agent General "informs our contemporary that numerous complaints have been made to him by traders Ihrcughout England, who are legitimately endeavouring to push th.® sale of lNew Zealand meat, that the practice adopted by competitors in -trade of substituting otlier and' cheaper meat for New Zealand, lias been injuriously affecting their business. He has, therefore resolved to take proceedings, as indicated in the advertisement, in the interest of aU. traders who are honestly selling New Zealand meat, and also for -the protection, of the consumers from whom money is being obtained by false pretences, ‘as well as for the benefit of the producers in the Colony which he represents.
