YACHTING
THE RAINBOW TO STAY IN WELLINGTON.
Wellington yachtsmen will be pleased to hear that the champion yacht Rainbow has been added to the Port Nicholson fleet, having been purchased by Mr E. O. E. Mills, rear-commodore of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club, and a wellknown enthusiast in yachting. It is highly probable that this will impart a stimulus to yachting in Wellington; indeed, a prominent member, of the local club has already signified his intention to have a beat built on similar lines _ to the Auckland clipper. Lovers of sailing in Wellington may, therefore, look forward to having, in addition to tfceWaitangi, at least another worthy competitor of the Rainbow. The yacht was, on behalf of Mr Pittar, handed over to Mr Mills yesterday by Mr Alexander, who has sailed the boat on her present Southern cruise!. Mr Mills is to be congratulated on bis piirchase, for the Rainbow is not only the champion boat of her size in Australasia, but is an excellent cruiser and' a good seaboat.
