MELBOURNE, January 25.

Compared with 1899 the imports into Victoria last year increased by £348,000. The gold and silver bullion imported decreased by £1,334,000. but merchandise increased by £1,683,000. The exports decreased by £1,145,000; the decrease in wool was £1,574,000; wheat, £359,000; sheepskins, £184,000; bullion and specie, £239,000. Other goods increased by £1,246,Cft)0, bringing down the net decrease.

BRISBANE, January 25. The total value of the exports from the colony last year was £9,072,000, a decrease of nearly two millions compar-

ed with the previous year. The exports of sugar fell from £1,163,000 to £666,000, and wool decreased by £1,182,000. The imports amounted to £7,052,000, an increase of £400,000 on the preceding year.
