LEASE OF DELAGOA BAY. BRIBES FROM" THE BOER GOVERNMENT. London, January 16. The " Times " states that the Transvaal Government has distributed £740,000 in bribery in Europe to prevent the lease to Great Britain of Delagoa Bay (the outlet of the principal railway? from the Transvaal), which is now owned by Portugal, but over which Britain has the preemptive right in case of that Power parting with it. VIOLENT DISTURBANCES AT JOHANNESBURG. Capetown, January 17. Owing to the interruption in the telegraph service, information with regard to the position of affairs at Johannesburg cannot bo obtained. News (which first had to pass the Government cenporship) hap, however, been received, which throws some light on tho situation. At the public meeting called to protest against arrest of the chairman and secretary of the Outlanders' League, a sensational occurrence took place. Bands of Boers invaded the meeting place and completely wrecked the hall. Many violent scenes are also reported to have occurred subsequently in the streets
