WELLINGTON GUN CLUB.
The offioials of tho Wellington Provincial Gun Club are naturally elated at the number of entries received for the £l5O annual open handicap, to be fired on Tuesday, the 24th inst,, the large number of 86 nominations having been received. Not only is this the largest field that has ever entered for a like competition in the colony, but the entrants include all the best-knoxvn shots in this class of sport in the colony. Mr W. H. Tisdall has declared the following handicaps, those marked (*) having nominated twice: *"Hillcoat," 31yds; *C. H. Chevannes and *F. Redwood, 30yds; *H. Bailoy, i23yds; *C. L. Mackersey, 27*yds; *J. 11. Kingdon, * Percy Adams and * Henry Redwood, 27yds ; *H. S. Hooper and * William Bennett, 26|yds; "Lewis," * Harry Cutts, *E. Gill and •S. Moffitt, 26>ds; * Hamilton Redwood, *W. S. Broderick and *T. H. Thompson, 25j3'd3; *A. Belmont and *D. Henderson, 25yds; *F. Boundary, W. Fredo, *R. Bonehill and *S. Vickery, 24*yds; *H. 11. Collins and *J. P. Horner, 24yds; *C. Chevannes, junr., 23iyds; *D. K. Davis, *S. Scott and »G. Whittle, 23yds; Sam Slow, *W. Boss, A. E. Gilbert, *E. Harmon, *R. Mcßae, A. J. Bonney, *H. W. Horton, *L. de Pelichet and *Paul Hunter, 22yds; C. Retter, * James Kyle, A. Ma3on, J. Brasell, *R. J. Whittle, senr., *F. Matthews, J. Prince, G. Cudby, *John Flanagan and *H. RichardAon, 21yds. Acceptances close on the 21st inst. Arrangements have been made by tho secretary far a dinner, to be held in the Trocadero on the evening of the 24th.
