SCOTLAND Y. THE WORLD. The Thorndon green was thronged with . players on Saturday afternoon, the occasion being the fifth match Scotland v The World for possession ot the handsome trophy presented by the president. Of the four games previously played Scotland had won two, The World one, and the fourth had ended in a draw. It Scotland won the fifth the trophy became their property, and their chances of winning were enhanced by the absence of Messrs Flanagan and Hickson from the ranks of the World. Scotland also had lost the services of Mr Jno. Newton, who has just left on a visit to the Old Country. _ The result of Saturday’s match was never in doubt, as Scotland went ahead from the start, and finished with a lead of 32 points.
