The suggestion of t\\>- Public Works Committee with regard to the bicycle by-law was discussed at the City Council meeting last week. An amendment of the by-law, that no person should ride a bic.vcle along any footpath in the city, \va3 confirmed. Councillor Smith again brought up the question of speed. He proposed that the rate of speed at which a bicycle might be ridden should be increased from four to five miles round corners, and from eight to ten miles along the streets. Councillor Myers seconded thi amendment, which was, however, lost by 7 to 4, and the by-law was passed. The bylaw will come into force on July Ist.
