RATHER ROUGH ON THE CHINAMAN.

Last week two young men of tho “ bell bottom ” type walked into a fruit shop in Courtenay place, kept by Chinamen, and asked for some bananas. After being served, they ato them in the shop, and upon being asked for payment, abused and threatened the Chinaman. Things might have been worse had the celestial son of the Flowery Land not armed himself with a bottlo of lemonade in each hand. A crowd soon collected, but as the police were not handy the “ bell bottoms ” got away.
