The fortnightly meeting of the Hospital Trustees was held on Tuesday. PresentMessrs F. H. Eraser (chairman), L.L. Harris C. 10. Willostoa, .7. Danks, C. VV. Brown. G. Allen and J. Collins and the Rev IT. Van Staveren. On the motion of Mr Willeston, seconded by Mr Allen, the chairman was reelected for another term. Mr G. Allen was re-elected treasurer for the ensuing year. A letter was read from Dr Evvart recommending that Nurses France and Palmer be raised to the rank of Senior Probationers, vice Senior Probationers Moorhonse and Beswick resigned and that the vacancies created by thi -/promotion be filled by Nurses Baton and Craig. It was decided, on tho recommendation of the House Committee, that Messrs Collins and Alloa have power to call for tenders for the new house for the Medical Superintendent, mid the offer of the Wellington Trust and Loan Company to advance the amount required (<£3oo) was accepted. Tho salary of tin: matron was increased from JSIOJ to J 2120. It was decided that the nurses should bo paid for only two oat of the three weeks' holiday granted them.

Constable Baskiville, of Pahautanui, yesterday found a young swagsman named John Beck lying 111 in a wharo on Air O. 1\ Lyach's station at Wainui, and brought him down to the Hospital. Beck's father lives at Poriii, Kaikouras.
