ATHLETICS.
The Wellington Harriers held their first weekly run of the second half of the season last Aveek, starting from the Wellington Bowing Club's sheds to Point Jerningham an 1 back. There was a large attendance of members, and a good run resulted. The annual mile road handicap takes placi next month. Messrs J. Pudney, D. Mouton and T. Holt, of Wellington, have been re-instated by tlie New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. Christchurch, January 21. At a meeting of the New Zealand Athletic Union to-night, the treasurer submitted an approximate, estimate of the receipts and expenditure in connection with the New Zealand and Australasian Athletic Meetings, showing a loss on the two meetings of about <£fc>4. On the New Zealand Meeting there was a loss of about «£2(J, while the Australasian Meeting showed a profit of £73 to be divided between the Association and the New Zealand Cyclists' Alliance, but this does not include a sum of about ,£49 incurred by the Association in defraying the expenses of the New Zealand representatives to the Australasian Meeting and sundry other expenses. A. H. Holder (Wanganui) was reinstated as an amateur.
