SHIPPING.
THE RUAPEHU. London, January 15. The Now Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruapehu, which left Wellington on November 29th for London, via Monte Video. Teneriffe and Plymouth, arriyed at Plymouth yesterday, all well. The barque Tillie Baker arrived from New York on Friday after a passage of 127 days. She left New York on the 12th September, and crossed the Equator 41 days out; experienced the average weather in crossing the Southern Ocean, fine to moderate weather from Tasmania to the Snares, and thence unfavourable winds and thick fog up the coast. The barque was off the Heads eight days ago. in company with the barque Dumblane, bound from Lyttelton to Picton, but was blown off by a strong northerly gale. Her cargo consists of 816 tons for Wellington, including 11,500 cases kerosene, and a balance, including 3509 eases kerosene for Auckland. She loads at the latter port for New York, with gum, flax. &c., under the auspices of Arnold, Cheney and Co. Messrs W. and G. Turnbull and Co. are the local agents. "The barque Seriol Wjn, which arrived on Friday afternoon at 4.30, left Capetown on the 3rd December, 1895, and arrived at Otago Heads for orders on the 10th inst. She left Otago on the 13th, and arrived as above. She is under charter to the Now Zealand Shipping Company, and follows the Woathersfield on the loading berth for London. Captain G. McKinnon acted as coasting pilot from Otago Heads to Wellington.
