EDUCATIONAL.
THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL. The results of the personal examinations held at the Technical School, Wellington, and other centres in the Wellington district in 1894 in connection with the science and art department of South Kensington, London, have just come to hand, and are as follow: —
Total number of papers taken in science and art, 311 ; passes, 226; failures, 85. In the second grade art subjects, 227 papers, 159 passes, 68 failures. In the third grade or advanced art, 54- papers, 48 passes, 6 failures. In science, 30 papers, 19 passes, 11 failures. At the request of Archbishop Pedwood and Bishop Moran, the Education Board has decided to authorise its inspector to examine the Catholic schools in the district, provided they can overtake the work. Wangacnui, January 16. By a majority of six to two, the Wanganui Education Board decided to accede to the request of Archbishop Pedwood to allow the Board’s inspector to inspect the Catholic schools of the district.
