MASONIC.

The annual meeting of Lodge St. Andrew was held oh Monday in the Freemasons’ Hall, Boulcott street. There was a very large attendance of members and visitors from the sister constitutions. The business of the evening was the installation of Bro. Stephen Townsend as W.M., and the investiture of officers. The G.D.C , Bro. H. Wetherilt, P.M., having announced the Most Worshipful Grand Master, Bro. H. D. Bell, PastDeputy Grand Master Bro. 11. J. Williams, and Grand Lodge officers, they were admitted, and received the usual honours. A Board of 30, Installed Masters having been formed, Bro. Stephen Townsend was duly invested and installed as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year, the ceremony being ably performed by Bro. H. J. Williams, P.D.G.M. Bro. Townsend afterwards invested Bro. R. Fletcher as I.P.M. The following officers were invested by Bro. R.- FletcherD.M., Bro. J. Danks, P.M. ; S.W., Bro. O. Neilson ; J.W., Bro. A. McKay ; Secretary, Bro. R. Fletcher, P.M.; Treasurer, Bro. G. France, P.M.; Chaplain (acting), Rev Bro. W. J. Dean, P.M. ; Organist, Bro. Andrew Foster; S.D., Bro. F. J. Beu; J.D., Bro. Geo. Williams ; L.S., Bro. F. Sampson; J.S., Bro. R. Scott ; 1.G., Bro. Andrew Williams; Tyler, Bro. H. Erith. Bro. R. Fletcher, P.M., ably performed the duties of Installing Master, and Bro 3. J. Danks, P.M., and Bro. G. France, P.M., acted as Directors of Ceremonies. The Grand Master heartily congratulated the lodge on its success- during the past year. On behalf of the members of Lodge St. Andrew he presented Bro. Fletcher, P.M., with a very handsome jewel as a token of the esteem in which ho is held by the members. Bro. Fletcher suitably replied. During the ceremony Bros. G. Wilson, P.M., A. Clothier, P.M., and R. B. Williams contributed vocal items, Bro. Jenkins a cornet solo, and the Masonic Orchestra, under the baton of Bro.J Hotop, performed several selections.' Congratulations having been received from the visiting brethren, the lodge adjourned. A banquet was afterwards held at which the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured. Songs were given by Bros. G. Wilson, P.M.; T. Mackenzie, P.M.; and W. D. Lyon, P.M., and a recitation by Bro. G. B. Clark.
