Shortly after 9 p.m. on the 21st Detective Herbert and Acting-Detective Gantley effected the arrest of three men —Michael Knight, Arthur Poulson and Charles Westbrook —on a charge of being found by night in the Foresters' Arms Hotel, with intent to commit a crime. It appears that at 10.30 on Tuesday night Mrs McCleland, wife of the licensee, accompanied by one of the servants, went into one of the bedrooms at the hotel, and found three men in there.
