This course he suggests because of the fact that the present arrangement' has not stimulated American trade or corrected the evils of administration The message is favourable to currency reform in the Hinted States, based on the Baltimore plan. ' . San Francisco, November 30. A startling subsidence has taken place at Incoma, a flourishing settlement in Puget Sound. Six hundred feet of docks disappeared beneath the waters of the bay. Two steamers were .sunk, and the whole of the Railway Company’s building collapsed. Ottawa, December 3. Mr Clark, who represented Canada at the World’s Fair in Chicago, leaves Vancouver for Sydney ou the 16th inst. on behalf of the Dominion in connection with the extension of trade with the colonies.
