THE RAILWAY RETURNS.

The railway revenue for the four weeks ending 28th April amounted to .£99,517 0s Bd, as compared with £113,250 7s Id in the corresponding" period last year. Middle Island Hurunui-Bluff, 55*09, 45*10; Greyraouth-Brunner, 60*34, 49*97 ; Greyniouth-Hokitika, 59*60 (for 1894) ; West-port, 51*77, 44*61; Nelson, 54*53, 55*86 ; Picton, 10058, 83*20. On the Wellington section the revenue was .£6993 Is 3d, as against £7794 9s 6d in the corresponding period last year. The number of passengers carried was 28,267, as against 39,193. The fares amounted to .£2341 10s Id, as against .£3062 os 7d.
