A great sensation was - caused at Pentridge prison to-day by an attempt on the part of five desperate criminals to scale the walls effect their escape. 1-hey succeeded in getting over one harrier before the sentry raised the alarm. ■(Mi armed guard immediately turned out, and after a desperate struggle the prisoners were secured.
