THE MEN’S EARNINGS. The following statement, the figures in which have_..been brought up to date, shows the earnings of men who have taken contracts on various sections of railway under the cooperative principle inaugurated by the Hon. Mr Se-.idon Men Avge. Railway. em- earnings ployed, per diem.
Five hundred and ninety-eight men were employed in all, and the success of the system stands attested by the above figures. *There were a few Maoris employed on this section (one party only) whose earnings were at the rate of Is lid only per dien).
