The Natives of Tologa Bay have taken possession of a six roomed house, a large orchard and 69 acres of land, ocoupied by Henry Williams, wbo also claims to be an owner in the Wharehaka Block. The posl. tion the Maoris take up is that some of them not having disposed of their shares in the block, and their interests never having been defended, they, as part owners of the soil, have a perfect right to “ squat ” where they please.
