A special meeting of the Committee of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club, which was called for on Tuesday to oonsider the proposed rules of the New Zealaud Yacht Racing Association lapsed for want of a quorum. The meeting now stands adjourned till next Tuesday at the Pier Hotel. A very handsome model of a clipper bow yacht has been sent to the Secretary of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club for exhibition to the members. The designer and builder of the model is Mr Waymoutb, senr., of the Auckland Yacht Club. The keel is built of American clear pine, the garboard strake is of cedar, the intermediate strakes are of spruce and cedar, the top sides are of kauri; the model being mounted on a mottied kauri board. The different colours of the woods blend very prettily. The design appears to be a cub between the English yacht Thistle and the American yacht Volunteer, while the feature in the model is her length of counter. The Wellington Rowing Club got off two Club events Wednesday night, G. B. Nioholls defeating J. Mulholland in the McKay sculls (first round) and W. Wilson and W. Brown defeating M. F. Marks and H.
