(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) Auckland, April 10. At the annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby Union the report showed a very favourable past season, the balance in hand amounting to L 321. The question of abolishing the clubs as at present constituted and reforming them on a residential district basis, with a view of increasing the number of senior fifteens and preventing all the good players flocking to one or two successful clubs, was brought up and occasioned much discussion. Though the meeting seemed to be in favour of some such step, the matter was left to the delegates, to report to the Union in a fortnight. It was resolved to recommend to the English Rugby Union that the system of scoring be altered to 1 for a try, 1 for a goal from a penalty kick, 2 for field goal, and 3 for a placed goal from a try. The question of forming a New Zealand Union to control interprovincial matters is to be again considered.
