The Grand Lodge of English Freemasons, at the instance of the Prince of Wales, the Grand Master, have considered Sir Robert Stout’s connection with the Wellington Grand Orient Lodge, and have resolved to deprive Sir Robert of his rauk in the Grand Lodge of England and to so inform the Grand Lodge of Ireland.

The United States will admit partlyprepared rabbit skins duty free. New York, March 7. Mr Chauncey M. Depew, one of the railway magnates of the United States, and other directors and officers of a railway company, have been arrested .in connection with the collision which took place between trains in a tunnel on the New York Railway on the 21st ult., resulting in the death of several pasengers.

Frosts have caused serious damage to the Continental crops. In Belgium and the Netherlands the prospects of a good harvest are receding, but in England they are still fair. The Liberals of Forest Dean have resolved to place absolute confidence in the moral integrity of Sir C. Dilke. It 'is considered probable that Mr Justice Stephen will be compelled to retire on the ground of eccentric behaviour. The citizens of London will invite the Emperor of Germany to be their guest during his stay in England. London, March 9.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Sydney, March 5. Sir George Grey was to-day presented with a very flattering address by the Single Tax League. In reply, Sir George stated that he believed that at the next session of Parliament the New Zealand Government would introduce a land and income tax. The Colony, he said, had a system which he thought no other part of the British Empire possessed, viz., one man, one vote, which he himself had been successful in carrying. Adelaide, March 6. Sir T. Elder has returned to the colony, having been reluctantly compelled to come to the conclusion that it is impossible to carry out an Antarctic expedition at present. An ancient Spanish wreck has been found on Barrier Reef, and golden dollars to the value of L3OO have been recovered. They are dated 1801.
