(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) London, March 4. The R.M.S. Kaikoura arrived at Plymouth yesterday, from New Zealand, with passengers all well and her cargo of frozen meat in good condition. The ship Piako, from Napier (9th November), has arrived in the Channel. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,192,000 quarters, and for the Continent 936,000 quarters. The American visible supply is 42,400,000 bushels. A cargo of New Zealand wheat on passage has been sold at 37s 3d. Union Steam Shipping Company s shares are at Lll, New Zealand Shipping Company, L 4 103 ; Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, Lll. A boom has taken place in the wheat market, owing to French demands consequent upon the bad prospects of the harvest. „ Dunedin, March 7. Messrs A. S. Paterson and Co. have been advised by cable that considerable reduction in the London dock charges on New Zealand frozen meat have been granted by the Dock Companies in response to their representations.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cable message from their London office, dated 6th instant: Tallow—Market quiet. Fine mutton is worth 26s 9d, and good beef 24s 9d per cwt. New Zealand hemp—Market dull. Medium is worth L 24 per ton. Frozen meats —Mutton, market steady ; beef, market quiet. The price of both mutton and beef has advanced £d per lb since last report. Lamb, market unchanged.
