This Bill was introduced in the place of the Shipping Subsidy Bill. (special to press association.) Ottawa, March 1. The Canadian Government has definitely agreed to give Lord Hartington’s steamers a subsidy of LI 50,000 per annum for a fast line across the Atlantic. The Australian colonies will be expected to subsidise the line from Vancouver to Sydney.
