HAM AND BACON SHOW.
(PER press association.) Dunedin, January 3. The first of a aeries of dairy produce shows in connection with the Exhibition wsb held to-day, but owing to insufficient publicity, many parts of the Colony were unrepresented. Hams and bacon were articles in which competition was held. The quality was excellent, and the judges had a difficulty in making the awards. YV. Quaife, of Christchurch, secured first honours in smoked and green hama and smoked sides ; B. Naylor was second and Irving and Stephenson third in smoked hams. Irving and Stephenson second and B. Naylor third in green hams. W. Wilson, vVellington, second, Irving and Stephenson third in smoked sides. Smoked middles—living and Stephenson, 1 ; W. Wilson, 2. Green middles—lrving and Stephenson. Green rolls -A. and J. McFarlane, 1; Irving and Stephenson, 2; W. Wilson, 3. Smoked rolls—B. Naylor, Clyde, 1 ; Irving aud Stephen-on, 2 ; W. Wilson, 2. Beef hams YV. Wilson, Wellington, 1 ; Irving and Stephensou, 2. Lard in kegs—lrving and Stephenson.
